Self Discharging Lipo Battery

The cells may be partially charged and discharged without damaging their performance so long as they are kept within their normal operating voltage parameters. Low Self Discharge – Unlike NiMH and NiCd batteries, Lithium Polymer cells experience a very low rate of selfdischarge when not in use.
LiPo Battery Disposal. Discharge the LiPo battery as far down as you safely can. You can do this a number of ways. Place the LiPo in a salt water bath. Mix table salt into some warm (not hot) water. Check the voltage of the LiPo. If the voltage of the battery is 0.0V, great! Dispose of the battery in the trash.
A lithium polymer battery, or more correctly lithium-ion polymer battery is a rechargeable battery. . of mobile devices and notebook computers can be completely satisfied. Also, they have low-self discharge rate, which is about 5% per month.
Lithium Polymer batteries don't selfdischarge anywhere near as much. Typically, you can leave a fully charged LiPo on the shelf for a month and it might only lose 1% of its capacity. It means, in theory, you can leave a fully charged pack on the shelf for a month or two and just pick it up and go flying.
I remember reading somewhere that LiPo batteries with higher discharge current ratings (25C for example) have higher selfdischarge/leakage .
