Connecting Battery Cables Which First

Spray both terminal ends with anti-corrosion solution. Attach and tighten the positive battery cable (Red). Attach and tighten the negative battery cable (Black). Ensure that all cable connections/ hold downs are properly tightened.
Connect the negative (-) side of the jumper cables to the fully charged battery first. Connect the other end of the jumper cable to the engine. Locate an unpainted .
There are also positive and negative cables in the jumper cable set. The red one is positive (+), the black one is negative (-). Never connect the red cable to the negative battery terminal or a vehicle with a dead battery.
Do not tighten the hold-down bracket too hard, since this can damage the plastic case and cover. Attach both cables. Attach the positive (red) cable first, following with the negative (black) cable.
